10,387 SSC, equivalent examinees absent, 24 expelled

On the first day of this year’s Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations on Saturday, 10,387 students were absent and 24 were expelled.

On the day, 17,98,706 regular and irregular students took exams for Bangla 1st paper, Easy Bangla 1st paper, Bangla Language and Bangladesh Culture 1st paper and Quran Majid and Tajbid at 3,404 examination centres across the country.

The highest 3,788 students were absent under madrassah education board followed by 1,621 under technical education board and 1,396 under Dhaka education board.

Thirteen students under technical board, six under madrassah, three under Barishal and one each under Dhaka and Dinajpur boards were expelled.

This year, 21,35,333 were set to sit for the exams including 17,40,937 regular and 3,91,054 irregular students .
