12 financially insolvent JU students awarded scholarships

A total of 12 students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) with financial difficulties have been awarded scholarships.

Jahangirnagar University Alumni Association in the United Kingdom (JUAAUK), an organization of former JU students living in the UK, donated the stipend money for the financially insolvent students.

On Thursday, Convener of JUAAUK Stipend Fund of Bangladesh unit Professor Md Kamrul Hasan handed over the stipend money to the students at a function held at the seminar room of JU Philosophy department, said a press release here today.

Addressing the function he said,:”It’s our little effort to help the students of this university who are facing financial difficulties. In future, we will try to continue such initiative”.

Member of the organization Professor Md Farhad Hossain of Statistics department and Professor Nurul Islam of Geography and Environment department addressed the function, among others, the release added.
