A Dhaka court today placed two former leaders of Dhaka University unit Chhatra League on two-day remand each in connection with an arms case.
They are former deputy sports secretary of DU unit BCL and student of IER Hasibur Rahman Tushar, and former deputy secretary of the same unit and Islamic History and Culture student Abu Bakar Alif.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Abu Sayeed passed the order after investigation officer Arifur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station, produced the duo with a seven-day remand prayer.
They were arrested with yaba, a pistol and other sharp weapons from Mohsin Hall of the university yesterday after they threatened Riaz Farazi, student affairs secretary of the hall unit BCL, putting a gun to his head over hall politics.
