2 school students drown in Ramna lake

Two ninth-graders drowned while taking a dip in a lake of Ramna Park this afternoon.

Primarily identified as Mahfuz and Adnan, they were students of Willes Little Flower School, Sub-inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Police Outpost, said.

The duo bunked classes and went to Ramna Park. They drowned in the lake after they took a dip in the wish to have a bath, the SI told.

Visitors at the park rescued them and rushed them to the hospital where they were declared around 4:15pm, he added.

Arif, a classmate, told reporters that he along with Mahfuz and Adnan went to the park. At one stage, Mahfuz and Adnan went to take bath in the lake and drowned.
