42,000 new classrooms to be constructed: Mostafizur

Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman on Saturday said quality education will be ensured for building skilled human resources in the country.

“To achieve the target of quality education for all, the government implemented various programs”, the minister said while addressing a meeting here as the chief guest.

District Administration and Primary Education Department jointly organized the meeting at Boishakhi Mela ground in the town.

Mostafizur said 42 thousands teachers have been appointed to meet teacher shortage and 65 thousand new class rooms will be constructed across the country to accommodate students.

The minister asked the teachers and members of school managing committees to work sincerely to ensure quality education and also urged the guardians and local elite to extend their helping hands in this regard.

State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee, Ministry of Land, Alhaj M Rezaul Karim Hira, president of the district Awami League Advocate M Baki Billah, Chairman of district council Faruk Ahmmed Chowdhury, additional superintendent of police Rawnak Jahan, mayor of Jamalpur municipality Mirza Sakhawatul Alam Moni and vice-president of district Awami League Syed Atiqur Rahman Sana spoke at the meeting, among others.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) M Rasel Sabrin presided over the meeting.
