Students of 7 DU affiliated colleges block Nilkhet

The students of academic session 2011-12 of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University withdrew their demonstration after the DU vice chancellor assured them of publishing results of their honours final year examinations in November.

The students blocked Nilkhet intersection around 9:00am saying that they have completed their examination in February but the authorities are yet to publish the results.

Following the blockade, vehicular movement through Nilkhet intersection remained halted for three hours, reports our DU correspondent.

On information, DU acting Vice Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman went to Nilkhet around 11:30am and assured the students of publishing their results in November.

After the assurance, they cancelled the schedule of submitting a memorandum stating the demands to the president.

The seven DU affiliated colleges are Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Mohila College, Mirpur Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College.
