7,053 students to get admission into DU this year

The online application for admission into first year honors course of Dhaka University (DU) under academic session 2017-18 began today while a total of 7,053 students could get chance to admit into the university this year through intake test.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique formally inaugurated the online application process at the central admission office on the campus at 2 pm, said a press release here.

Of the total seats, 1,765 is reserved for the science group students under ‘A-unit’, 2,363 is reserved for humanities group students under ‘B-unit’, 1,250 for Business Studies faculty students under ‘C-unit’, 1,540 for (combined unit) tests for science, business studies and humanities groups’ students under ‘D-unit’ and 135 is reserved for Fine Arts Faculty students under ‘Cha-unit’, the release added.

According to the release, a total of 253 seats have been increased this year while a total of 6,800 students admitted into the university last year.

The admission tests will begin on September 15.
