Education fair held in Gaibandha

A day-long education fair was held on the premises of Maddhyapara Government Primary School of the town here on Monday amid much enthusiasm to the students and the teachers.

Directorate of Primary Education arranged the fair as a part of the celebration of National Primary Education Week-2016 in a befitting manner.

The objective of the fair was to help flourish the merits of the students, ensure cent percent student admission in schools, prevent the dropout rates and encourage the students to acquire knowledge with pleasantries.

An inaugural ceremony organized by district primary education office was held on the school ground in the morning with district primary education officer AKM Amirul Islam in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdus Samad attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest. General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, district unit, Abu Bakar Siddique and mayor of Gaibandha Pourashava Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon were present as special guests.

The ceremony was also addressed, among others, by Sadar UNO Ashraful Momin Khan and chairman of the school managing committee Promotosh Saha.

Speaking at the function, DC Abdus Samad asked the teachers to be more active and professional to attend the schools timely and to pay special attention to provide quality teaching to the students to make themselves worthy citizens of the country.

The DC also urged all to turn the academic institutions into knowledge acquiring centres to produce brilliant students from there so that they could play significant role and contribute to building nation in future by using their merits.
