HSC Exam: Female teacher stabbed by outsiders

A college teacher was stabbed as she stopped some youths entering the centre during Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations in Gafargaon town on Monday.

Two youths — Titu, 22, and Hridoy, 23, of the town — were arrested in connection with the incident.

The injured is Assistant Professor Kazi Zakia Ferdousi of Department of English at Gafargaon Government College.

Md Amir Hossain, principal of the college, said the two arrestees wanted to enter the examination hall at the college around 12:00 noon on Monday.

After being denied, Titu and Hridoy waylaid Ferdousi when she was entering her dormitory on the college campus around 9:00pm. At one stage, they stabbed her and fled the scene, said the principal.

Hearing screams, the principal and other staff of the college rushed  her to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex.

Police arrested Titu and Hridoy, said AKM Mahbub Alam, officer-in-charge of Gafargaon Police Station.
