An HSC examinee was stabbed to death allegedly by his friends at College Road More in the district town on Thursday.
Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said Muhtasim Billah Shakil, 18, an HSC examinee of Syed Nazrul College and son of Emdadul Haq of Akua area, had an altercation with some of his friends of Royel Medial College over a trifling matter on Thursday evening.
At one stage of altercation, they stabbed Shakil indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
Later he died on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
AKM Abdur Rafiq, principal of Syed Nazrul College, said Shakil might have been killed following a dispute over love affair.
