A Higher Secondary Certificate examinee was stabbed to death at Shahjahanpur in Bogura on Saturday. Deceased Naziur Rahman Nahid, 19, was the son of Matiur Rahman of village Narilla in the upazila.
Police detained Rabiul Islam, 20, son of Ismail Hossain, a resident of village Mostail in the upazila, on suspicion of his involvement in the killing.
Nahid was attacked on his way home after an exam at Govt Kamar Uddin Islamia College at Demajani, said the police.
Shahjahanpur police station officer-in-charge Abul Kalam Azad said Nahid was rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura at about 2.15pm by the locals.
Nahid, however, died while undergoing treatment at 230pm and the body was kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
