Inclusive edn for students with special needs, autistic underscored

The primary level school teachers should ensure inclusive education for the physically challenged students with special needs to flourish their latent talents equally like the common students.

Secretary to the ministry of primary and mass education Md Humayun Khalid said this while addressing concluding ceremony of a training course on ‘Autism and Inclusive Education’ at Kawnia upazila parishad auditorium here on Friday as chief guest.

Headmasters of different government primary schools from all over the upazila participated in the training course presided over by Kawnia upazila nirbahi officer Syed Farhad Hossain in the chair.

Kawnia upazila vice-chairman Abdur Razzaque, additional district magistrate KM Maruf Hassan, assistant divisional deputy director of the directorate of primary education Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, district primary education officer Khalilur Rahman addressed as special guests.

Kawnia upazila primary education officer Golam Asaduzzaman, headmaster Sarwar Hossain and headmistress Rawshan Ara Begum also spoke.

In their speeches, the speakers discussed about necessity of ensuring inclusive education at primary level educational institutions adopting the appropriate teaching methodologies and techniques.

They asked the participants for properly taking care and educating the autistic children as well as students with special needs to flourish their latent talents for establishing parity in the education sector as well as in the society as whole.

The teachers should have adequate knowledge and skill to ensure inclusive education for students with special needs paying due attention and arranging special remedial classes to make them equally knowledgeable like the normal students.

The chief guest asked the headmasters to ensure proper behave with the autistic and physically challenged students and work with utmost dedication and high morale of the noble profession to make the inclusive education programme successful.
