Jobs of 2,595 pry teachers to be nationalised

The government is going to nationalise the jobs of 2,595 teachers of 519 registered primary schools across thegovt logo country. Of them 519 are headmasters while the others are assistant teachers.

The fiancé ministry on Thursday approved the proposal for creating posts for the 2,595 teachers under the third phase of job nationalisation of non-registered primary school teachers, a senior finance ministry official said.

The official added that the office order in this connection would be issued by the middle of this month.

Earlier, the ministry of public administration approved the proposal of the primary and mass education ministry for nationalisation of the jobs of those teachers and sent it to the finance ministry for approval as the process involved budgetary allocation.

Back in January 2013, prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, announced the nationalisation of 26,193 registered primary schools and absorption of the teachers of the schools into government service in phases.

In the first phase, 22,981 non-registered primary schools were nationalised with 1,14,905 posts of teachers, five at each of the schools. About 93,000 teachers of the schools were absorbed.

In the 2nd phase, 1,719 schools were nationalised in October 2013. IT is, however, alleged that 8,595 teachers at the schools concerned have not yet got salaries.

Officials concerned in the finance ministry said that the issue of the salary of the teachers would be solved by this month.

Sources at the primary and mass education ministry said that they would soon send a list of 24 schools with 100 teachers to both the ministries of public administration and finance for nationalisation.
