Mahbub made IU syndicate member

Professor M Mahbubar Rahman of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department was made as the new syndicate member of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday. He was appointed to the post from the general education category, sources at IU registrar office said on Sunday evening.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari appointed him to the post for the next two years, IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif said.

Mahbubar served as the provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Student Advisor, and proctor for two terms. He took steps to stop drugs, ragging corruption and militancy as well as elimination of outsiders during his proctorship.
