An Islamic University student was found alive on Thursday, five days after he had gone missing. The victim was identified as Abdullah Al-Mamun, 24, son of Siddique Mollah. He is a student of Al-Quran and Islamic studies department and hails from Satkhira.
Mamun had gone missing from Jashore on Saturday when he was going to Satkhira from Kushtia. A general diary was filed with IU police station in this regard.
His family sources said that he was dropped at Satkhira’s Tirishmail area by three unidentified men around 5am. He was blindfolded and could not recognise any of the abductors.
Mamun's father Siddique said that the kidnappers had demanded Tk 40,000 as ransom but they sent Tk 5,000 via bKash after initial negotiation.
