Nahid inaugurates interactive digital textbooks

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today inaugurated Interactive Digital Textbook (IDT) of Class-VI highlighting that it will be helpful for the students.

“Sixteen interactive textbooks have been prepared for Class-VI. These books will be attractive to the students as audio, video, texts and animations have been used. Students can learn their expected lessons from the books easily”, he said.

The minister was addressing a launching ceremony of Interactive Digital Textbook (IDT) of GRADE-6 at International Mother Language Institute in city’s Segun Bagicha area.Nahid said that the government is sincerely working to ensure the quality of education by taking ICT-based programmes.

“Teachers and students will be benefitted after using technologies in the textbooks. We’re introducing digital textbook system for ensuring better future of students in the ICT-based globalised world,” he added.

The education minister urged the students to acquire knowledge on modern education aiming to keep them updated with the job markets of changing world.

Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain, Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director Manmohan Parkash, Technical and Madrasah Division Secretary Md Alamgir, Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Prof Md Mahabubur Rahman, among others, addressed the function. National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) Chairman Prof Narayan Chandra Saha presided over the function. (bss)
