Quader defends AL, says students attacked first

Desk Report |

Awami League General Secretary has defended the assault carried out on general university students today saying it was the students who attacked first.

“Will we kiss them if they advance towards Awami League office?” Quader told reporters at a programme in Dhaka’s Banani today.

Claiming that the countrymen feel very angry and bored due to wrongdoing of a vested political quarter, Quader called upon all to build a resistance against the evil force without putting pressure on the children. “We will not put pressure on the children.”

The Awami League leader reiterated his call to the agitated students for returning home and said all of the demands raised by the protesters have already been accepted.

Awami League activists today teamed up with police to batter university students who marched to Jhigatola demanding answer to yesterday’s attack on students.

Armed with hockey sticks, iron rods, pipes and other weapons, they pounced on students around noon today, what made Science Lab intersection a battleground.
