The 10th convocation of the University of Rajshahi (RU) will be held on September 29, the university authorities announced today (16 August).
The Public Relations Office Adminstrator Prabhash Kumar Karmakar issued a notice in this regard this afternoon, reports our RU correspondent.
President Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, will chair the programme scheduled to be held at the university stadium, the notice says.
Earlier on February 3 this year, the date for the 10th convocation was fixed for March 24, more than one year after the online registration for the convocation was completed in 2016.
But it was postponed on March 13 due to the illness of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid who was supposed to chair the programme. The authorities said they would announce a fresh date after talking to President Abdul Hamid.
The online registration process was opened on November 3, 2016 with a deadline of November 30 the same year for those who earned their masters, MBBS, BDS, MPhil and PhD degrees between 2011 and 2014 from RU. Later, the deadline was extended till December 15, 2016.
Nearly 5,000 students registered for the programme that time, according to the RU ICT centre.
