Strengthening cultural activities to prevent militancy stressed

Strengthening and flourishing cultural activities in the educational institutions could effectively prevent militancy, terrorism, drug abuse and corruption from the society to establish sustainable peace in the country.

Chairman of Dinajpur Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Professor Ahmed Hossain said this while addressing the launching ceremony of Lions Cultural Academy and freshers’ reception at Rangpur Lions School and College here on Sunday as chief guest.

Member of Managing Committee of the educational institution valiant freedom fighter Akbar Hossain presided over the function participated by the teachers, students and guardians of the institution, civil society members, socio-cultural activists and elite.

Secretary of Dinajpur Education Board Aminul Haque Sarker, School Inspector for Rangpur region of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Syeda Khaleda Akhter and District Education Officer Rokhsana Begum attended as special guests.

Professor Ahmed Hossain stressed the need for enhancing cultural activities in the educational institutions as well as everywhere in the society to awaken the common people for becoming united to resist militancy, terrorism, drug abuse and corruption.

He put special importance on enriching Bengali culture through strengthening cultural movement involving the students, youths and young generations to establish the non-communal spirit of the War of Liberation in building a peaceful Bangladesh.
