Student held for cheating in SUST entry test

Police detained a student, who has recently passed the entry test of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology under ‘B unit’ for the academic session 2018-19, for cheating in the examination.

The accused student is Rashik Marjan, hailing from Pirganj thana in Rangpur district and he obtained merit position 353 in the test, said Jahir Uddin Ahmed, member secretary of admission committee.

Being informed by the university administration, a team police detained Rashik, when he came to university for his admission, said Jahir Uddin. Later, the student confessed that another student appeared in the entry test on behalf of him.

The university proctor said that Rashik’s father gave TK  3 lakh to a forgery gang so that his son could get chance in the university.
