Three to die for killing student in Kushtia

A Kushtia Court sentenced three people to death on Thursday for killing a school student after abduction in 2011.

The convicts were as Sabbir Khan, son of Abdul Gaffar of Kalisangkorpur area in Kushtia, Helal Uddin, son of Azam Ali of Kusthia Sadar upazila, and Abdur Rahim, son of the late Mulim Sheikh of Doshmail area in Bheramara upazila.

Kushtia women and children repression prevention tribunal judge Munshi M Moshiar Rahman passed the judgment.

According to prosecution, the convicts abducted Muttasim Bin Mazed Hridoy from Mollah Teghoria area and demanded Tk 12 lakh in ransom from his mother Taslima Khatun on May 23, 2011. On October 3, 2011, the convicts strangled the boy to death when Hridoy’s mother failed to give them the money.
