UGC chairman receives death threat

University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan received a letter carrying a threat to kill him. On Tuesday (17 July) he received the threatening letter by mail.

UGC Security Officer Syed Ashrafuzzaman filed a general diary with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in this regard on Wednesday (18 july).

In the general dairy, he also sought security measures for the UGC chairman, reports UNB.

Nur Hossain, claiming to be a resident of Savar, sent the letter to the chairman’s office over the general mail post.
