Virtual classroom launched at BRUR

A modernized virtual classroom with digitized ICT-facilities was launched on the second floor of the Academic Building No-2 at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) here on Sunday.

The Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project of University Grants Commission extended financial support in setting up of the virtual classroom, a press release said.

Vice-chancellor (VC) of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah inaugurated the virtual classroom at a ceremony arranged on the occasion.

Dean of the Faculty of Sciences Professor Dr Tazul Islam, Professor of the Department of Mathematics Dr RM Hafizur Rahman and Proctor Professor Dr Abu Kalam Md Farid Ul Islam, among others, were present.

Launching of the virtual classroom will help the university authorities conduct examinations, seminars, meetings and other events on the campus.

After inauguration of the virtual classroom, Bangladesh National Scientific and Technical Documentation Centre (BANSDOC) organised a seminar there on attaining experience about various research works and services of the organisation.

Director General (DG) of BANSDOC Begum Jasmine Akhter presided over the seminar and discussed about various information and e-services of the organisation.

In the afternoon, the Department of Public Administration of BRUR organised another seminar on ‘Exchange of Experiences as Public Servants’ at the same venue.

With Lecturer of the Department of Public Administration Zubayer Ibne Taher in the chair, VC Professor Kalimullah attended the event as chief guest.

The BANSDOC DG as main discussant participated in the seminar arranged for teachers and students of the department.
