Popular author and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology professor Muhammed Zafar Iqbal is expected to return to his workplace on Wednesday after completion of his treatment at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.

His personal assistant Zaynal Abedin told New Age on Monday afternoon that Zafar Iqbal was likely return to Sylhet on Wednesday afternoon after being discharged from CMH on that day.

‘He is supposed to address SUST students at Muktamancha on the campus at 4:00pm on Wednesday,’ Zaynal said.

Zafar Iqbal was stabbed on February 3 evening when he was inspecting projects on display at a robotic competition on SUST campus as part of a two-day festival of electrical and electronics engineering students.

Zafar Iqbal was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, from where he was later flown to CMH.
