3-day drama festival begins at JU

A three-day drama festival began at Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Thursday, marking the 69th birth anniversary of Natyacharya Selim Al Deen.

JU Drama and Dramatics department organised the festival. Selim Al Deen was the founding chairman of the department.

On the first two days, dramas written by Selim Al Deen are being staged at the Theatre Lab of Zahir Raihan auditorium, said convener of Festival Management Committee and Chairman of JU Drama and Dramatics department Prof AKM Yousuf Hasan. 

On the concluding day on Saturday which marks the birth anniversary of the Natyacharya, there will be a seminar, discussion, rally, placing floral wreaths at his grave and staging of dramas at the Selim Al Deen Mukta Mancha, he said.
