5 held for adopting unfair means in DU entry test

Five people, including four admission-seekers and one guardian, were detained from different exam centres for cheating and adopting unfair means during the 'Ka’ unit admission test of Dhaka University (DU) on Friday.

“Our proctorial team and police detained them from different exam centres .Two of them were held with electronic devices at an exam centre. A guardian was also held in this connection,” said DU Proctor Prof Dr AKM Golam Rabbani.

However, he did not reveal the identities of the detainees.

The one-and-half-hour honours first year admission test of ‘Ka’ unit under Science Faculty for the 2018-19 academic session was held at 84 centres inside and outside of the campus from 10 am. A total of 81,096 candidates registered for the admission test against 1,750 seats.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Pro VC (Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin, Proctor Prof Dr AKM Golam Rabbani, Dean of the Science Faculty and Coordinator of ‘Ka’ unit admission test Prof Dr Abdul Aziz visited different examination halls of Curzon Hall of the university.
