Begum Rokeya University launches user terminal

An user terminal has been launched at Central Library and Information Centre (CLIC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Monday afternoon, a press release said today (15 August).

Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah formally inaugurated the user terminal at a function as the chief guest.

Presided over by Director of CLIC and Dean of the Faculty of Arts of BRUR Prof Dr Parimal Chandra Barman, Registrar of the university Muhammad Ibrahim Kabir attended the function as special guests.

Along with books of the university’s CLIC, students will get chance to study and conduct international standard research taking help of e-Books and e-Journals by logging on to necessary websites using Internet access through this ‘user terminal’.

Deputy Director of CLIC Abdus Samad Prodhan said the User Terminal would help students of the university to download, read and copy portions of books with 6,500 titles published by five e-book publishing organisations, BSS reported.

“Primarily, we have put four computers for use by students at the User Terminal corner at CLIC of the university with Internet access facilities and more computers would be provided in future for the purpose,” Prodhan added.
