DU to hold Int conference on Ecological Risk Management

A two-day long international conference on climate change and environmental issue titled “China, South and Southeast Asian Conference on Environment and Ecological Risk Management” will begin at Dhaka University (DU) on Friday.

Faculty of Earth and Environment of Dhaka University and Hunan University of China jointly organised this programme to extend the collaboration between two universities. The programme schedule was announced at a press conference held at the Faculty on DU campus today.

President of Dhaka University Teacher’s Association and also the Dean of the Faculty ASM Maksud Kamal read out the written statement at the press conference.

DU VC Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the program on Friday. A total of 50 researchers and experts including 17 foreign researchers from different countries including China, Nepal and Myanmar of various universities will participate in the conference.

33 research papers on three particular theme which include climate change issue and environmental issue, environmental chemistry and agriculture, natural hazard and disaster management will be presented on the
conference.

“We arranged such program to create new opportunities like exchange programme of both the universities”, said Maksud at the press conference.

Dean of Agriculture Faculty, Dean of Earth and Environment Science Faculty, Dean of River Institute, Dean of National center of Unan University, and teachers and students of DU, were present in the press conference.
