IUT organises mechanical festival

Islamic University of Technology on Wednesday organised a mechanical festival titled ‘Mecceleration 2018’. Mechanical and Chemical Engineering department of the university organised the programme where former vice-chancellor of the university Professor Fazli Ilahi was present as chief guest, said a press release issued on Wednesday. 

The objective of the festival was to connect students from all universities and colleges across the country through its nine different events and competitions, it said. 

The events and competitions include Robo Riot, Soccer Bot, LFR Challenge, Business Case Study Competition, Cad Competition, Project Showcasing, Poster Presentation, Engendering Olympiad and General Knowledge Completion. Social Islami Bank Limited was the title sponsor of the event while Kabir Steel Re-Rolling Limited and Protik Group was joint gold sponsor.

Mecceleration was founded in 2014 by the IUT MCE’10 batch as a Tech-Fest of mechanical and chemical engineering department with an aim to share knowledge and foster connections among engineering students from major institutions in the global perspective, the release said.
