JU Teachers’ Association to help flood-hit people

Jahangirnagar University Teacher’s Association (JUTA) has decided to donate equivalent amount of one-day salary of all teachers to help flood affected people of northern and central part of Bangladesh.

JUTA president Professor Dr. Farid Ahmed told yesterday, “under the supervision of JUTA, we will collect equivalent amount of one-day salary from all the teachers of the university which will be spent to help the flood affected people”.

Meanwhile, JUTA condemned the oppression over Rohingya people by the Myanmar’s military forces.

Dr. Farid said JUTA will form a human chain on September 17 on the central Shaheed Minar premises of the teachers of the university to protest against the oppression on Rohingya people by Myanmar’s military forces.

The decision was made at an emergency general meeting of JUTA here today, he added.
