Students of Jahangirnagar University on Thursday formed a human chain demanding immediate elections of Jahangirnagar University Central Students Union.
Under the banner ‘Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad’ the human chain was held at the premises of central Shahid Minar of the university at 11:00am.
Addressing the programme, convener of the organisation, Shakiluzzaman said, ‘The university conducts election of all section of teachers and officers but they don’t have any initiative to hold the election of JUCSU since 1992.’
‘The current vice-chancellor of JU has assured the students several times to hold the election immediately but we don’t see any activities to match his words,’ said joint convener Adib Arif.
Among others, joint convenors of the organisation Abu Sayed, Khairul, Rezaul Amin, Azad, and Asiful Mahbub were present at the programme.
