KAU to begin its academic activities today

Khulna Agriculture University is set to start its academic activities today. On the occasion, the university’s academic activities will be inaugurated at a function to be held at the deputy commissioner’s conference room in Khulna.

Education minister Dipu Moni is scheduled to attend the function as the chief guest, acting registrar of the university Khondokar Mazharul Anwar said.

Later, an orientation function for the first year honours students will also be held.

Earlier, the university started its administrative activities 64 days ago at a multi-storey rented building in the city’s Sonadanga residential area.

The first admission test for first year honours students for academic session of 2018-19 was held on March 3 last.

A total of 60 students were admitted under the veterinary, animal and biomedical science and agriculture science faculties.

On September 17 last year, the government appointed Shaheedur Rahman Khan, professor of microbiology and hygiene department of veterinary faculty at Bangladesh Agriculture University as vice-chancellor of Khulna Agriculture University.
