Nahid urges teachers to use technology for classroom teachings

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today urged the teachers to make classroom teachings attractive by using newly innovated technologies.

He made the call addressing the inaugural function of a training workshop on Digital Classroom Solution (smart board) at Bishwasahitya Kendra in the city.

The training programme was arranged for teachers of 51 schools which have been provided with digital technology, smart board, which is capable of showing pictures and images instantly to make classroom teachings easily comprehensible and attractive.

Education Secretary M Sohrab Hossain, Department of Secondary and Higher Education Director General Prof. Dr. SM Wahiduzzaman, Bishwasahitya Kendra President Prof. Abdullah Abu Sayeed and Rahim Afrooz Limited Adviser and former Secretary Dr. Mahbubur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.

Secondary Education Quality and Access Enhancement Project Director Dr. Mahmudul Huq presided over the inaugural function, said an official release.

The education minister advised the teachers to adopt modern teaching methods and said the development of technology and human resources should proceed together.

He said multimedia classrooms have been developed in more than 24,000 schools to ensure a time-befitting education for the students.

Upazila ICT Training and Resource Center for Education is being constructed at the upazila level to make ICT training and necessary ICT services available in all upazilas, he added.
