Parliamentary committee for promoting local films at schools

Parliamentary standing committee on information ministry has suggested to arrange film show once in a month at schools to promote local films as well as to offer students healthy entertainment.

The committee at a meeting held in the parliament building on Thursday also formed a three-member committee to prepare recommendations in this regard, according to a release issued by the parliament secretariat.

The committee would prepare the recommendations for the proposed film show programme at all schools once in a month, the release said.

Information minister Hasanul Huq Inu, parliamentarian Simin Hossain Rimi, Saimum Sarwar Komol and Salahuddin attended the meeting with the parliamentarian AKM Rahmatullah in chair.

At the meeting, the lawmakers discussed different aspects and potential consequences of the move, the release said.
