At least six primary students were stripped off as punishment enforced by the acting headmaster, Rabindranath Sarkar of Sanatan Government Primary School at Keshabpur upazila under Jessore district .

Rabindranath forced the students to put off their pants as they wanted to play football going against his will, said Jalal Uddin Biswas, a member of the school managing committee.

The incident took place during leisure period on Sunday. Parents came to learn about it when the victim students denied going to school on Monday.

The victim students felt a great humiliation and ashamed of going to school, parents alleged.

The aggrieved parents filed complaint the matter to the managing committee of the school.

Many such allegations are there against the acting headmaster, they said.

Hasan Ali, a guardian of a student of the school, alleged that the teacher often does not allow students, who are bellow 10, to visit toilet.

When asked about the matter, Rabindranath said that he wanted to watch a boy’s circumcision only. ‘But the villagers were trying to divert the issue to put him in false position,’ he added.

Assistant primary education officer Provat Kumar Roy said that he had already completed investigation and found the allegations true.

The matter has been informed to the higher authorities, he added.
