RUET launches computer networking course

The Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has launched an advance level training course on computer networking in order to make its teachers, officers and employees skilled on the modern communication technology.

RUET Vice chancellor Prof Rafiqul Alam Beg said this while addressing the closing and certificate-giving ceremony of a month-long computer networking training course on Sunday as the chief guest.

RUET’s Central Computer Center and Planning and Development Branch jointly organized the course titled “Basic Concept and Computer Networking” with financial support from Education and Research Project of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC).

VC Prof Beg said there is no alternative to adopting modern technology to take the present socio-economic condition forward in this competitive world.

He said the present government is working relentlessly for reaching IT services at the doorsteps of the people for building Digital Bangladesh.

Prof Beg added that the government has imparted training to 55,000 students on information and communication technology transforming them into skilled manpower.

Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof Abdul Alim and Prof Shahid Uz Zaman of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering also spoke with Administrator of Central Computer Centre Prof Bashir Ahmed in the chair.

Some 16 officers and staffs of the university took part in the course held at central computer centre here.
