School committee president assaults teacher

A teacher was allegedly assaulted at his school premises by the president of the school managing committee.

The incident took place at Mahendra Jhabati Government Primary School located at Madhabpur union in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar district on July 10.

On July 12, the victim, Abdul Khalek Chowdhury, filed a written complaint with the office of the upazilla nirbahi officer against school committee president Md Taj Uddin seeking justice.

In the written complaint, Khalek said that on July 10 he was first verbally assaulted before being punched and kicked later by Md Taj Uddin. Khalek further stated that he was abused because he was 10 minutes in arriving at the school.

Taj Uddin was unavailable to be reached by phone for his comment on the allegation.
