A school student was killed allegedly by a friend near Shah Mostofa Road area in Sadar upazila of the district at around 9:00pm on Saturday. Police sent the body to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Nadim Uddin, 16, of Berirchar village in the upazila. He was a student of Class X. Police, quoting locals, said the victim’s friend, Imon Miah, 17, locked in an altercation with Nadim and at one stage, he stabbed Nadim with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot. Police said Imon killed Nadim as a sequel to a previous enmity.
