Seminar on biotechnology in academia and industry held at JU

A seminar on ‘Biotechnology in Academia & Industry’ wasbiotech seminar held at JU held at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium of Jahangirnagar University on Saturday.

Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) in assistance with Inspire project of British Council organised the seminar.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farzana Islam attended the programme as the chief guest while head of the department Dr. Shahedur Rahman was in the chair.

Dr. Farzana Islam said, the students of Biotechnology do not getting the opportunity of work and study in the eligible areas.

We should have to evaluate their merit and create opportunity of work in different industries for them in our country perspective, VC added.

University Treasurer Prof. Dr. Abul Khayer and the Dean of Biological Sciences faculty Prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Hawlader also spoke at the programme as special guest.

At the ending session of the programme, the Convener of the seminar and associate professor of the department Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Sohael gave vote of thanks to all.
