Sexual assault on Nusrat: Case shifted to women repression tribunal

The case filed over the sexual assault on Feni Madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi has been transferred to Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.

Feni Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Jakir Hossain today passed the order after holding hearing on the charge sheet submitted against lone accused Feni’s Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa principal Siraj Ud Daula yesterday.

The magistrate also fixed July 10 for the further hearing of the case by Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, a correspondent from Feni reports quoting plaintiff lawyer M Shahjahan Saju.

Yesterday, Police Bureau of Investigation submitted a charge sheet before Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain against Siraj Ud Daula in the case filed over sexual assault on Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi’s mother filed the case accusing the principal a few days before the madrasa student was set ablaze by a group of five unidentified persons on April 6. She lost her battle for life on April 10.

The 18-year-old girl was set afire allegedly for refusing to withdraw the sexual assault case filed against Siraj late March.
