A university student was killed in a clash between students and outsider terrorists in front of City University in Savar on Monday afternoon (April 10).
The deceased was identified as Sifat, 22, a textile department student, hailed from Muktagachha upazila of Mymensingh.
City university students said, on Sunday, Shaheed and Bappi, two students of the university, had a brawl with each other over a girl-related issue.
On Monday, some of Shaheed’s friends were standing in front of the university while terrorists, hired by Bappi, opened fire at them leaving Sifat and another student Bashudeb bullet-hit.
They were rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital where on-duty physician declared Sifat dead. Bashudeb is undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU).
Sub-inspector Tariqul Islam, in-charge of Birulia police outpost under Savar Model thana, said police already arrested two suspects and conducting drives to detain the perpetrators.
