Students cabinet election held

The Students of Secondary Education Institutions and Madrashas elected members for their cabinet today.

District Education Officer (DEO) Khondokar Rezaul Karim said students of 144 secondary Schools and 29 Madrashas of Manikganj district have elected their leaders through votes for the first time in school lifetime.

The DEO said heads of the educational institutions conducted the elections. Some of the students were elected unopposed. He said the election was transparent and held in a befitting manner.

Rebeka Jahan, Headmistress of Manikganj SK Government Girls High School, said the elected student leaders of the secondary education institutions might emerge as the leaders of the country in future. She further said it is good for strengthening and flourishing democracy.
