Desk Report |
Students from different colleges and schools today vowed to build themselves as worthy citizens following ideology of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to make Bangladesh a happy and prosperous country.

Bangabandhu had a dream for building “Sonar Bangla” through removing all sorts of deprivation, they told a programme at the Bangla Academy in the city marking the National Mourning Day and the 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu.

Poet Asad Chowdhury chaired the function, conducted by media personality Subash Singha Roy.

Iqra Binte Azad, a student of Munshiganj Tongibari High School, said Bangabandhu would remain a towering personality in society, nation and in the contemporary world for his outstanding leadership quality and works. “We want to build ourselves as worthy citizens in the country emulating the ideology of Bangabandhu,” she added.

Like Iqra, other students recalled Bangabandhu’s extraordinary contributions towards achieving Independence and said Bangabandhu and Bangladesh thus emerged as a unique symbol to the people of Bangladesh.

They also said, “Bangabandhu is our source of inspiration and we all should follow his ideology to build a non-communal and economically prosperous Bangladesh.”
