Three college girls arrested for militant suspects

Police arrested three female students of Comilla Victoria Government College for their suspected link to militancy from a college dormitory at Dharmapur here early Thursday.

One of the arrestees was identified as Kaniz Fatema, master’s final year student of the Accounting department, while the rest two could not be identified immediately, reports UNB.

Abdullah Al Mamun, additional superintendent of police, Comilla, said police conducted a raid on Nawab Foyzunnesa Dormitory of the college around 12:30am and arrested the three female students.

The raid was conducted following information from the college authorities on suspicious movement and behaviour of the students, Abdullah Al Mamun added.

All the three were members of Islami Chhatri Sangstha, female student wing of Jamaat-e-Islam.

Besides, some jihadi books were recovered from their possession.
