UGC Chairman for complying govt's financial regulations in project implementation

University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr SMA Faiz today asked the officials concerned to follow the government's financial regulations properly in implementing its projects.

“All should strictly follow the government's financial regulations in the expenditure of UGC’s project, being implemented for improvement of quality higher education,” he said.

The Chairman made this call at the two separate meetings of project implementation committee (PEC) here in the UGC office, said a UGC press release.

He urged everyone to work sincerely for  implementation of the projects by ensuring transparency and accountability.

Prof Faiz expressed the hope that the work of the two projects would be completed on time though implementation of those started in delay.

The PEC meetings were held on two projects; higher education acceleration and transformation (HIT) project, and improving computer and software engineering tertiary education project.
 
UGC members Prof  Dr. Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan and Prof  Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen, BUET Vice-Chancellor Prof  Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman, Vice-Chancellor of Jessore University of Science and Technology Prof Dr Md Abdul Majeed, Treasurer of Dhaka University Prof  Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, UCG Director of Planning and Development Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan, HIT Project Director Prof  Dr. Asaduzzaman, ICSETEP Project Director Prof Dr Md Aminul Haque Akand, Additional Director of Planning and Development Shah Mohammad Aminul Islam and representatives of various ministries, UGC and project related officials were present.

Prof Asaduzzaman and Prof Aminul Haque Akand highlighted the overall progress of HIT and ICSETEP projects respectively in the meeting.
